We have had some very successful Writing Workshops. Your children are giving opinions about books, sharing and re-telling sequences in stories (what came , first, next, last) with a focus on pictures and details. We continue to meet with our Kinder Buddies every Tuesday for group projects, mini-math lessons, writing, and science. Ms. Hunter, a retired music teacher and my friend, has been coming to visit the Stars twice a week for about a half hour. She has been helping us with , group games, new songs, and patience. Ask your child about some of the songs we sing during her visits. On Thursdays we enjoy another enrichment activity ~ Motor Challenge. Pam Stom has been running this great program for our Stars!
Our class likes to play Top It!, a math card game, and we are all pretty good at counting and clapping syllables in words. Check out our pattern block designs!

Say hello to three of our new Class Pets ~ Leopard, Vivian, and Jewel ~ our Glo Tetras. We also have two African water frogs named Lucy and Paper.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! to everybody for helping make our Harvest Party such a success. The class really enjoyed all the crafts, games, delicious food and socializing. Appreciation abound!
Looking for another way to help at Thurston? consider coming in once a month to be an ART helper. Following is a note from Mrs. Wyse
I have created a new Thurston Art Blog.
Check out the new Thurston Art Blog!
Go to http://www.thurstonart.weebly.com/ to see what your child is learning in the art room. I plan to update the site every few weeks so you can see the art in process as well as the finished product. There is even a place for you to subscribe so that you can get an e-mail each time I update the page.
Let me know if you have any questions,
