I hope everybody had a restful and healthy winter break.
We are going outside every day ( unless it's raining), please consider some of these ideas ... winter clothes snowpants, boots, and classroom shoes can be left at school during the week, but they must go home every Friday. If you want your child to keep a set of winter clothes at school, please put them in a cloth or sturdy bag with everything LABELED with their name. Shoes or boots can be left in our hallway, neatly lined up by their "magic #". All shoes and boots need to go home on Friday so the halls can be waxed.
Our field trip this month is the performance of Under the African Sky - a Wild Swan production. Kinder teachers wrote a grant to help fund a portion of this trip. We did receive the grant and I am happy to announce - A portion of this activity is supported by Michigan Youth Arts, Ovation, and Comcast. The grant should cover most of the cost of the bus, and our fabulous PTO is paying for a ticket for each child.
There is space for one more chaperon, we will be eating a sack lunch at WCC and then riding the bus back to Thurston.
Some of your children brought books home to read. These books are at or below your child's reading level. This is purposeful, to ensure a successful experience and to encourage confidence and self esteem in young readers.
Happy Birthday to our friends:
