Happy Spring! With the weather changing we need to consider changing our outdoor clothing, too. Please send extra socks and pants for your child in case of a muddy fall or puddle accident. Rain boots are good on muddy days, too. Please remember to send gym shoes with your child on Monday and Tuesday, so they can participate in P.E.
We will be wrapping up our Construction Science unit, Dirt, Sand and Water will be next. Mr. McIntosh (Cael's dad) came in to share with us about the sites where he manages big projects. He shared blue prints, safety equiptment, tools for the job, and how his job has allowed him to travel to many interesting places. If you think you could share information with our class, I have found parents to be excellent resources for our kinder science. Please send me an e-mail and we can set up a time that works for you.
We had a wonderful time at the Wild Swan Theater's "Under the African Sky" performance. We heard some familiar stories including: The Talking Vegetables, and Why the Sky is Far Away. We enjoyed meeting the cast after their performance. Stewart Stars were good travelers and a polite audience. We also had a few nappers on the bus ride home...
Our 100's Club is growing. Children are scrolling and writing numbers through 100 and beyond! Ask you child about this. We are practicing our money skills with our classroom restaraunt. Children have enjoyed taking food orders, being the chef and taking payment for the meals.
We have readers everywhere! I am so proud of each Star. The growth in this area for all of our children has been huge. Thanks for establishing the love of books in your children. Your child can still earn Pizza Hut coupons for reading. We continue with our 3rd grade Reading Buddies in Ms. Muglia's class. Ask your child who their Buddy is.
Besides reading books, some of us are reading music, too. Ms. Rothfeld has fostered the love of music and creativity with our Kinders and we LOVE it! Even Ms. York comes down to listen to our skills.
Valentine's Day was lovely ~ Thank you to all the grown-ups who came to help. Great time, as always.
Here is our slideshow
The 100th day activities offered many opportunities for us to count, group, write, build, and bead to 100!
The trip to the Hands On Museum was a success. We had enough parent volunteers that we were able to split off in smaller groups. This afforded us a better experience. Thank you.
Thank you, too, to all of the families who help in the classroom, send in nutritious snack, travel with us on field trips, help in the art room, organize events, put together the Scholastic books, replenish our classroom materials, and so much more.
I am humbled by your generosity. Thank you.
