It's hard to believe the end of of April is here. We have had a whirlwind month with Pajama day, the Fun Run, Favorite Book Character day, planting seedlings and garden planting with Mr. Frank and Mrs. Jill. We embraced Earth Week with an activity for every day, including making mud pies. Thank you to all the parents who came out in the spring cold and helped make this activity such a success.
We have a lovely SHOW this month.
Many thanks to Nishka's mom for coming in to read The Watcher a book her family donated to the class.
Thank you to Adeola's Father for sharing and building upon our previous knowledge about constructions, building, planning and design. This time we got the perspective of a Civil Engineer. Mr. Adefeso has a career, focus on transportation....bridges, damns, roads, transit and water supply.
Happy 6th Birthday to NOELLE!
Thank you, Mr. Frank and Mrs. Jill from Thruston Nature Center ! We love partnering with TNC for science - so many activities tie in with our Dirt , Sand, and Water unit. We have enjoy and learn a great deal from collaborating with TNC beginning with Fall throughout all the seasons right in our 'backyard' ~ Thrustons's own habitat.
We have been working on number line math, a concept students will learn in first grade. Our focus has been addition and subtraction as the year comes to an end.
Story Time Players visited again to share oral storytellings with our Kinder classes. They will be coming one, last time in May to share Tikki Tikki Tembo. We love hearing different versions of classic books re-told by our elders.
We will wrap up our NWEA testing sessions by Wednesday of next week.
Please look around the house to see if you have any story bags, leveled readers, or other academic support items that I may have sent home with your child. I am beginning to collect these items before the end of the school year.
