Fall is here and the year is clicking away. CONGRATULATIONS to our class for earning the Library Trophy! Our class showed Responsibility, Respectfulness and Safety, with regard to the library, the materials, the teacher and how we handle books. We beat out the whole school for this award last week!
We are working on building a classroom community and I have arranged for our class to be guests at the EMU vs. TOLEDO football game, Saturday, October 13 @ 1:00 p.m. It would be great if you and your child could make an appearance. It is a great opportunity to meet classmates, outside of Thurston and for parents to meet and connect. Hoping we can build some memories together, outside of the classroom as well as in. Let's go Hurons! Hope to see you there!
I appreciated all the help on our walking trip Thursday! Thanks for making the trip a success. We received many compliments about our polite and respectful behavior. It was a beautiful day to be walking and picnicking outdoors.
Socially and emotionally, we are practicing using our words instead of crying or yelling or "telling on somebody". I encourage the children to share their feelings with the person who is bothering them - first. If that is not working, they should always find an adult to help. Many times, when a child says "stop" to another child... the response is "okay".
Art and Library help - Thank you to the people who have already signed up on the Green sheet outside our room. You can also email [email protected] or [email protected]
Thank you, Wanda, for organizing our scholastic books! Thank you Tori, for our monthly, snack calendar!
THANK YOU to ALL families for such healthy and delicious snacks for your child's growing brain. We are a hungry bunch, especially at the end of the day.
Our science unit Collections in Nature has started, I encourage your child to look around your home, park, yard and bring items to add to their box at school. I brought in an intact snake skin that I found on my walk. We know it weighs less than a pine cone, and is longer than a leaf.
